On March 15, Li Zhaomin—Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of the university—led a delegation to Xinjiang Tianye (Group) Co., Ltd. for a visit and exchange. The delegation ventured deep into the company's production frontlines to conduct on-site inspections of the current state of its industrial development, and held discussions with relevant company executives to jointly deliberate on matters regarding deep-level university-enterprise cooperation and collaborative development.
Li Zhaomin and his delegation visited the exhibition hall at the Tianye Technology Building, the central control rooms for carbide production at Tianneng Tianwei and Tianwei Cement, and the Production Management Center at Tianwei Chemical. During these visits, they gained a detailed understanding of the company's developmental history, technological innovation achievements, and production operations, thereby enabling a precise alignment between the company's talent requirements and the university's technological development directions.
During the subsequent symposium, Li Zhaomin reviewed the long history of cooperation between the two parties and outlined the achievements made by Shihezi University in various fields of development in recent years. He noted that, as a key strategic partner of the university, Xinjiang Tianye (Group) Co., Ltd. has provided comprehensive support across areas such as student internships and practical training, collaborative scientific research projects, the joint construction and sharing of platforms, and the joint cultivation of talent. This support, he emphasized, fully demonstrates the sense of responsibility inherent in state-owned enterprises and the broad vision characteristic of industry leaders. Regarding the deepening of the next phase of university-enterprise cooperation, Li Zhaomin stated that efforts must focus on jointly cultivating the "new talent of the era," jointly resolving technical challenges, jointly building high-caliber platforms, jointly promoting the commercialization of research findings, and jointly expanding international cooperation. By further deepening university-enterprise synergy and consolidating their collective strengths, the two parties can—on the new journey of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period—join hands to forge a new landscape for university-enterprise cooperation, thereby making new and greater contributions to the high-quality economic and social development of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.
Zhou Jun—Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xinjiang Tianye (Group) Co., Ltd.—extended a warm welcome to Li Zhaomin and his delegation, and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Shihezi University for its long-standing and robust support in areas such as talent supply, technical assistance, and collaborative research. He provided a detailed overview of the Tianye Group's development strategy and industrial layout, and elaborated deeply on the company's current urgent needs regarding talent attraction and cultivation, technological innovation, its strategic approaches to development in these areas, and the key priorities for future university-enterprise cooperation. He pointed out that the strategic direction of Tianye Group aligns closely with Shihezi University’s mission regarding talent cultivation. Consequently, the collaboration between the two parties rests upon a solid foundation and offers vast potential for growth. He expressed the hope that this visit and exchange would serve as a catalyst to further deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research; to foster pragmatic, efficient, and comprehensive cooperation; and to join forces in harnessing collective strengths and achieving mutual complementarity, thereby driving high-quality development for both organizations.
During the meeting, representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth and specific discussions focusing on key areas, including aligning academic disciplines with industrial development needs, joint talent cultivation, and collaborative research initiatives. These exchanges served to further clarify and define the future direction of their cooperation.
